HYBE Issues Its First 'Sustainability Report'

HYBE has issued its first 'Sustainability Report', which summarizes the company's vision for sustainability management and its achievements throughout 2022. The report, which was released in Japanese on the official website on September 27th, was created in accordance with the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standards, the global guidelines for sustainability reports. The Korean version of the report was released earlier on July 28th.
HYBE has established a sustainability management vision called 'FOR SUSTAINABLE ENTERTAINMENT' to share the direction of sustainability management with stakeholders and to show its goals. The purpose of this is to pursue sustainable growth of the entire entertainment industry through sustainability management.In the report, HYBE's Chairman Bang Si-hyuk commented, 'We will lead the sustainability of the entertainment industry, contribute to society through our main business, and aim to be a company that grows.
Through these, we aim to be a company that brings positive changes to the industry and is loved for a long time in the future.'The report presents a detailed vision for the environment, society, and governance, and shows the intention to produce meaningful results through substantial activities, not just presenting the vision.The first vision is 'THINK FORWARD FOR FAN'S LIFESTYLE', which means providing a wide range of experiences with the future fans in mind.
The key issues for achieving this vision include the use of environmentally friendly materials, the development of convenient services based on Weverse, and the improvement of fan accessibility.The second vision is 'CREATE POSSIBILITIES WITH THE COMMUNITY', which means pursuing growth with artists, fans, members (HYBE employees), and partner companies. As key issues, it presents the strengthening of diversity and inclusiveness among employees, global-level human rights risk management, and the advancement of ethical management and compliance management systems.
Furthermore, it will focus on establishing 'LEAD INDUSTRIES BY THE STANDARD', which will become the standard for the entertainment industry. To achieve this, it has declared a focus on providing a safe working environment, strengthening the disclosure of sustainability management information, and minimizing information security risks.In addition, HYBE has selected the following 10 major materialities (important issues) considering environmental and social impact and financial impact.

In the report, HYBE CEO Park Ji-won stated, 'HYBE will continue to prove that the entertainment field is a sustainable industry.' He promised to 'maintain sound governance that is comparable to global standards and strengthen it' and to 'produce substantial results and provide transparent reporting through the Sustainability Report.'
