Kyoto Veneto, a specialty shop for matcha sweets from Kyoto, will be opening a limited-time pop-up shop at Amu Plaza Kokura! The debut sweet is the 'Daifuku-cha'. It is made by wrapping mochi made with salt from Kotobikihama in Kyoto with Uji matcha bean paste, mascarpone cheese, and cheddar cheese cream. The combination of the chewy texture, the bittersweetness of matcha, and the creamy cheese is a unique fusion of Western and Japanese sweets.
The price is 300 yen for one piece, 972 yen for a set of three, and 1,782 yen for a set of six. Another popular item is the 'Kyoto Uji Matcha Cheesecake Gemini', which maximizes the aroma of Kyoto Uji matcha. The lower layer is a baked matcha cheesecake, and the upper layer is a rare cheesecake mousse.
The surface is covered with matcha nappage, creating a cheesecake with a rich matcha bitterness. It is priced at 2,160 yen. The 'Kyoto Uji Matcha Cheesecake Roll' is a roll cake with a fluffy sponge cake filled with smooth cheese cream with matcha.
It is wrapped in matcha jelly, adding a touch of bitterness and richness to the overall taste. The price is 1,998 yen. The classic baked confectionery 'Graccha' is a langue de chat made with matcha tiramisu.
It sandwiches chocolate made with mascarpone cheese between crispy dough made with Kyoto Uji matcha. The aroma of matcha spreads as you eat it. It is available in sets of 9, 18, and 27 pieces, priced at 918 yen, 1,674 yen, and 2,430 yen respectively.
The pop-up shop will be open from December 26th to December 31st, 2023, at Amu Plaza Kokura in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The shop is located on the 3rd floor of the East Building, next to the entrance event space. The opening hours are from 10:00 to 20:00.
